For over forty years, I have read Pascal’s writings and attempted to understand their relevance for human life. Emile Cailliet at Princeton and Louis Lafuma in Paris were my primary guides as I dug into Pascal’s Pensees. These Pascalisants introduced me to Blaise Pascal and led me into the complexities of his thought. Across the years, there has been a strange intermingling of Blaise’s thoughts with mine. Sometimes I have agreed with him and sometimes we have disagreed. But he always has stimulated me and challenged me to try to think “Christianly”; to think within the framework of a Judeo-Christian world view which accurately reflects, to some degree, a Biblical perspective.
